We All Want To Be Healthy and
Feel More Amazing, Right?

The truth is, it can be confusing to know where to begin and when we feel overwhelmed, it’s easy to give up even before we’ve started.

The top 3 health goals I hear from woman are:

  • I want to feel better about myself
  • I want to lose weight
  • I want to have more energy

If you felt better, had more energy and reached your ideal weight, you’d probably feel unstoppable, right?

Good. Because that’s exactly what I want you to feel!

I want you to feel UNSTOPPABLE.

I want you to harness the Beautiful, Bodacious, Wicked-Awesome Woman
I know you are deep down inside.

I want you to kick-ass at life

and I want you to have it all because (quite frankly) you deserve it!

That’s why I put together a blog series to address all 3 of these goals with super simple tips you can start implementing right away.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting easy-to-implement strategies to help you Look Better, Feel Better and get you “back in the game” for finally reaching your Weight Loss Goals.

Let’s start with strategy 1:
Get Enough Sleep.

Have you ever considered that the amount of sleep you’ve been getting (or not getting) is affecting your weight loss?

Let’s face it, when we’re tired we tend to make fewer healthy choices throughout the day, and it’s easy to reach for that quick “pick me up” food (Tim Horton’s coffee and donut, anyone?)

I get it, I’ve been there.

We also tend to skip the workout we had planned for the day and we might even pound back a bag of chips in front of the TV when we get home. Yeah, I’ve done that too……sour cream and onion chips for the win!

It’s a vicious cycle and it SUCKS!

But when you’re also dealing with stress and anxiety, being mindful of your sleep habits is EVEN MORE important because the last thing we need is one more reason to feel deflated, guilty and disappointed in ourselves.

Adequate sleep really is the first step in controlling your weight and eating habits.

Let’s take a pause so I can insert some
nerdy science stuff
……

“When it comes to body weight, it may be that if you snooze, you lose.
Lack of sleep seems to be related to an increase in hunger and appetite, and possibly to obesity.

According to a 2004 study, people who sleep less than six hours a day were almost 30 percent
more likely to become obese than those who slept seven to nine hours.

Recent research has focused on the link between sleep and the peptides that regulate appetite.
“Ghrelin stimulates hunger and leptin signals satiety to the brain and suppresses appetite.
Shortened sleep time is associated with decreases in leptin and elevations in ghrelin.

Not only does sleep loss appear to stimulate appetite.
It also stimulates cravings for high-fat, high-carbohydrate foods.

Ongoing studies are considering whether adequate sleep
should be a standard part of weight loss programs”

See? Sleep IS super important.

Sleep can affect your immune function, aging process, memory, learning, metabolism, and yes, it definitely affects you’re STRESS LEVELS.

Getting adequate sleep is a big deal!

Here’s my challenge to you, figure out what time you need to go to bed each night to ensure you get 7-9 hours of sleep and make the decision to stick with it.

Try it for a week and let me know if you notice any differences in your energy level and eating habits.

I can’t wait to hear about your successes, so please keep me posted.
If you need some more tips, let me know. I’m here to support you.

You’ve got this beautiful!

'Til next time,
